Gateway Of India
Mumbai's most recognized monument, the Gateway of India, was constructed to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to the city. It was completed in 1920 and remains as a striking symbol of the British Raj era. After this era ended in 1947, the last of the British troops departed through the Gateway of India. The looming Gateway is designed to be the first thing that visitors see when approaching Mumbai by boat. It's also a popular place to start exploring Mumbai. These days the atmosphere around the monument resembles a circus at times, with numerous vendors peddling everything from balloons to Indian tea.

Marine Drive
One of the best ways to discover Mumbai is to take a stroll down the Marine Drive, where the road stretches from the Nariman Point to Malabar Hills and offers some fascinating views along the way. Due to the curves and the streetlights, it was once known as the Queen’s Necklace. Being a popular sea front, Marine Drive also acts as a link from Malabar Hills to the southern parts of Mumbai such as Colaba and Nariman Point.

Juhu Beach
Juhu Beach is a place that attracts a large number of visitors throughout the year. The beach covers an area of about 5 kilometers and is studded with many 5 star hotels offering quality services and great beach views. Other activities such as camel and pony rides as well as monkeys and other sources of entertainment are found on the beach. You'll also be able to feast on tasty snacks offered by the multitude of food stalls and mobile food vendors.

Hanging Garden
Hanging Garden, another must see sight in Mumbai, is also known as Ferozshah Mehta Garden. The park was build during the early 1800’s over Mumbai’s main reservoir at the top of the Malabar Hills. The garden provides a lovely sunset view of the Arabian Sea. Located nearby is the Kamala Nehru Park, another tourist attraction.

Shree Mahalaxmi Temple
The temple is located at the foot of the Malabar hill. It lies on the northern side of the Malabar Hill. A part of the temple is now called Breach Candy. This temple is one of Mumbai’s oldest temples. It is dedicated to Mahakali , Mahalaxmi and Maha Saraswati. It is a place, which is visited by devotees all over India.

Haji Ali
The imposing Haji Ali is both a mosque and tomb. It was built in 1431 by wealthy Muslim merchant and saint Haji Ali, who was inspired to change the course of his life after going to Mecca. It also contains his body. Situated in the middle of the ocean, Haji Ali is only accessible during low tide from a narrow, 500 yard long walkway. On Thursdays and Fridays tens of thousands of pilgrims flock there to receive blessings from the dead saint. If find you need to pass some time until the tide lowers enough, there's a shopping center on the opposite side of the road.

Film City
Mumbai is the center of India's booming "Bollywood" film industry. The architecturally resplendent Eros Cinema, adjacent to the Churchgate railway station, is a great place to take in a Bollywood movie. Alternatively, it's possible to go on a tour to the heart of the action in Film City. Or if you'd rather be in a Bollywood movie than simply see the set of one, that's possible too!

Siddhivinayak Temple
This is devoted to Ganesh, the Indian elephant headed God. It is located at Prabha Devi in Mumbai. There are people who pray to this deity before any new venture or project. This is a very famous temple.

Caves and National Park
In contrast to its millions of inhabitants and sprawling development, Mumbai surprisingly also has a national park located within its limits. It's worth a visit just to see the many ancient Buddhist caves, which have been hand carved into volcanic rock there. More caves, dedicated to the Hindu Lord Shiva, can also be found on Elephanta Island.

Besides all this, Mumbai has the best pubs, hotels, and recreational spots like the Fantasy Land and the Essel World. Mumbai also is home to a lot of Bollywood or Hindi Movie actors. The entire city exhibits a Diaspora of religion, culture and traditions. The Kala Ghoda festival adds color to the city and it encourages artists from across the world to come and participate. In this manner as we leave the city we only have one thing to say,” East or West Mumbai city is the best”.

Train
The local trains, also known as the lifeline of Mumbai city have an efficient but crowded network. Thane is one of the main junctions in the central line network and is extremely well connected to both local as well as the national rail networks.

There are three main lines, making it easy to navigate. The most useful service operates from Churchgate heading north to stations such as Charni Rd (for Chowpatty Beach), Mumbai Central, Mahalaxmi (for the dhobi ghat), Vile Parle (for the domestic airport), Andheri (for the international airport) and Borivali (for Sanjay Gandhi National Park). Other suburban lines operate from CST to Byculla (for Victoria Gardens), Dadar, and as far as Neral (for Matheran). Trains run from 4am till 1am. From Churchgate, 2nd-/1st-class fares are Rs 5/41 to Mumbai Central, Rs 9/76 to Vile Parle or Andheri and Rs 11/102 to Borivali.

Autos/ Taxis
Auto Rickshaws are the most popular mode of road transport in Suburban Mumbai. Even though they may not be the most comfortable of rides, it is definitely the most easily available mode of road transport besides being low on price.

Black & Yellow Taxis- These slightly more expensive than the auto rickshaws, but can accommodate an extra passenger and are more comfortable. Also, as auto rickshaws are not allowed in the southern Mumbai, they are opted by commuters to travel to popular landmarks like Gateway of India, Taj Mahal Hotel etc.

Private taxis have also become a preferred option for commuters because of their high standards of professional service. These can also availed throughout Mumbai and Thane region.

Popular private taxi hire companies include Meru Cabs, Mega Cabs, Easy Cabs etc.

Private Vehicle Hire
Private vehicles, ranging from Tata Indica, Toyota Innova to even Mercedez Benz can be hired on  hourly or day basis. Typical slots given out for hire are 4 hours/4Kms, 8 hours/80 kms or overnight vehicle hire. Private vehicles may also be hired for airport pick-up/drop services on pre-fixed fares. (These services can be availed at the hotel’s travel desk. Contact hotel for details).
